Acquiring a Kitten

Here we give some hints about things you should to know before acquire a kitten in general or a Sunny Queen kitten in particular.

A cat is not a cuddly toy

A kitten is not a cuddly toy, although sometimes he/she can seem. A kitten plays, runs, jumps, sharpens his/her nails, eats, drinks, uses the sandbox and occasionally does his/her pranks. For this reason you must take into account everything that involve and that a cat needs both affection and independency, so that we can not manipulate them. They depends on us, thus the first thing that we have to do, for example, when we travel, is thinking about he/she, who will look after him/her, how many days he/she will be without his/her family, and son on. Furthermore, we have to know that a cat means a responsibility during many years. Definitively, a cat must not be a temporary whim.

A cat requires cares

Apart from provide the food and clean frequently the sandbox, a kitten requires fondness. Furthermore, we have to play with him/her in order to the cat is active and amused, and also we have to educate with the purpose the cat behaves properly. This education has to be made with much affection, and always is better reward when the cat is doing well rather than punish when the cat misbehaves. Every cat has a different personality, for that we have to be patient if the cat is shy or is not much loving, since with the time and patience is sure that we get a reciprocal trust and that he/she loves us like we loves him/her.

A cat has expenses

We have to add some costs for maintaining the cat, such as the food (always better if it is a high-end product ), sand, toys, beds, scratchers (very important if we don't want the cat sharpens his/her nails in our sofa), and the most important thing, the veterinary. As well as vaccines and routine checks, when we have any doubt about if our cat is ill, we have to go to the veterinary, and sometimes it isn't so cheap, so that we have to take this unexpected cost into account.

Advantages of the Sterilization

If we don't want to breed, the best thing is to have the cat fixed ( spayed for females, neutered for males) , it is better for both us and them. If the cat is a male we will avoid the urinary marks and that the cat wants to go out. And if the cat is a female we will avoid the laments when she is in heat. For that reasons a cat (male or female) sterilized is the best pet (although we prefer say "inseperable companion" ) that we could have.

Two is better than one

In our opinion, if we are going to spend very much time out of home, the ideal is to have two cats (or more ;-). Although we have to take into account that the expenses will increase, but however the required time won't increase so much, since the two cats play and sleep together. And if you make good presentation norms, or they are bred together from they are kittens, they will be inseperables!!

A cat is one of the best thing that can happen to you

Another time in our opinion, to have feline company is wonderful. A cat is the perfect mate, they give so much love!! They are lovely not being burdensome, are clean, careful, intelligent and know when they have to stay with us. Definitively, we only can say: "Put a cat in your life".

Sunny Queen Kittens

The Sunny Queen kittens will go to their new home not before 3 months of age, they will be have all their vaccines and will be treated for internal and external parasites . Moreover, they will be identified with a microchip. And of course all of them will be registered in the Origin Book (pedigree LO, Libro de Orígenes ASFE/FIFE). Furthermore, their mother and father are tested on the main viral feline illness (FeLV, FIV and PIF).

They will be given with a well health veterinary certificate, a sanitary warranty and a contract in which is specific our obligations and the new owner ones with respect to the kitten, as well as the quality of him/her: Company (he/she could not go to shows and will have to be sterilized), Show (could go to shows but must be sterilized), Breed (could not go to shows, but could be used for breeding), and Show & Breed (could go to shows as well as be used for breeding). The Breed and Show & Breed kittens will be only for responsible and registered breeders.

Last, we would like follow up on a process to our kittens and keep in touch with their new owners, and in this way to be able follow their evolution and growth, besides of help in any thing they need.
